QR Code Generator
Design styled QR codes with an emoji, text or logo in the center - and keep them scannable.
Create QR codes that match your brand while staying easy to scan.
Creating a QR Code
- Open QR Code Generator
- Enter the Content - usually a URL, but any text works
- Pick a Dot style and Corner style
- Set Foreground and Background colors
- Optionally add Center content: an emoji, up to 4 characters of text, or your logo
- Download as PNG or SVG, or save it to My codes
Keep Content Short
The more characters you encode, the denser the code - and dense codes are harder to scan, especially when printed small.
Content is limited to 128 characters. For long URLs, create a short link with the Link Shortener first and encode that instead. A bonus: you can change the short link's destination later without reprinting the code.
Colors and Contrast
Scanners need a clear difference between dots and background.
- Use a dark foreground on a light background - inverted codes fail on many scanners
- Aim for a contrast ratio of at least 4:1 - the generator warns you when contrast is too low
- Avoid transparent or busy backgrounds behind the code
Center Content
Adding an emoji, text or logo covers part of the code. To make up for it, error correction is always set to level H, which lets up to ~30% of the code be covered and still scan.
- Simple, high-contrast logos work best
- Square or round logos fit better than wide ones
- Test the code after adding center content
PNG or SVG?
- PNG - for web, social media, presentations and documents
- SVG - for print. It's vector-based, so it stays sharp at any size
Before You Print
- Scan the code with at least two different phones
- Check it at the final printed size - roughly 2 x 2 cm is the practical minimum
- Leave a blank margin (quiet zone) around the code
- Make sure the link works and points to the right page
Saving Requires a Verified Email
You can design codes without an account. To download and save them, sign in and verify your email address. Saved codes can be edited or re-exported from My codes.
